I've been reviewing my research today. I don't think I've posted this excerpt before. It's from 1965:
A forward-looking church in Tennessee has outlined goals in preparation for the year 2006, when the church will celebrate its centennial. Plans for new buildings include a double-deck parking lot with landing deck on the roof for air cars and helicopters.
A vast Uniworld University is predicted by 2000 with microfilmed libraries instead of books and television substituting for classrooms. One has only to punch a translation button and hear world-renowned lecturers in any language.
It is estimated that by the year 2000 the average American family income will rise to $15,000 yearly, or higher.
It's interesting that some of the predictions seem way off base, but others have more or less become reality. Who knows what the future holds?
