Messages on church signs are (in my opinion) often trite, cheesy, or just plain boring. Let's help this church make its sign more interesting by adding words in front of its message.
Any good ideas?
______________________ , Jesus loves you this year too.
Well, since it's not totally clear which word the "too" is supposed to be amplifying, it could be read several ways, and therefore, made more interesting in several ways. So which reading do you prefer?
• JESUS loves you this year too. (As in "Not just yer Mama loves you this year.")
• Jesus LOVES you this year too. (As in "He's bumped up how He feels about you a notch or two this year.")
• Jesus loves YOU this year too. (As in "You finally made the cut this year! Woo hoo!")
• Jesus loves you THIS year too. (As in, "You can tack on this year in addition to the other years that He's loved you as well." Which is probably the real intent of the message, I know. :)
• Jesus loves you this YEAR too. (As in, "You get more than a week of His love this time.")
• Jesus loves you this year TOO. (As in, "We weren't quite sure you were gonna make it "in" this year. Whew!)
No wonder it's hard to communicate accurately without the nuance of tone and body language. :)
goodness... my brain is not working this early. I'll come back later! :)
Did you have a good Christmas? I never get to talk to you at church. (if I'd come to Sunday school, I might for a minute... haha)
I would just add "I don't know why, but..." to the front of the message. ;-) But then again, no one is asking me to design inspirational messages for church signs.
I like Amy's! I still can't think of anything clever!
