I remember before everyone had the internet. (I told you I'm old.) It was rough.
Our library promised they could find any information we needed to know. So since I didn't have Google, I just called them with my questions.
One time I asked how my train bridges ran across the Mississippi River. (No reason--just curious.)
I think they connected me with people in six or eight states before all was said and done. (In case you're wondering, there were 19 bridges total.)
I think I prefer using the internet to answer my questions today. I'm sure the librarians do!
You ARE old! ;)
There's something about doing WORK to research that makes it feel so much better and like you've really learned something. :)
(not that you're not doing work now, but you know what I mean!)
I remember in 3rd or 4th grade, I did a project on weather and called a meteorologist at Fox6. They actually connected me to him and he talked to me for about 15-20 minutes, answering all my questions. It was so cool and I was so proud of my project! :) Nowadays, they'd never answer the phone!
