Did you know that Spanish moss is the only species of the pineapple family indigenous to the United States?

Strange but (supposedly) true.

    Beautiful! Where are these pics taken? Spanish moss is pineapple? No way! Maybe Wikipedia has more info.

    Did you know that Spanish moss was also used to fill the seats in Model Ts and other early cars? This is one interesting plant! :)

    Breathtaking. My sister-in-law (the one who lives in Prague) grew up in Charleston and has relatives on Johns Island. Your post sparked my memory of her requesting that the confederate flags be removed from the historic building in which her wedding reception was held.

    Weird about the pineapple/moss connection. Thank you for giving me my "learn something new every day" moment!
