I won't bore you with all the details, but this upgrade means I am officially, 100% on the PhD track. I hadn't expected to formally upgrade until next year. So I'm taking this to mean that they were pleased with my progress.
The professors can be very critical of people's research, so I was relieved that their comments to me were positive. Here are a few things they've said about other people's work:
- I have no idea what you're talking about!
- This is really not worthy of a PhD.
- You have about three PhDs here, but you can only write one.
- Maybe this makes sense to you, but I'm afraid it doesn't to anyone else.
- You need a lobotomy!
Congrats! Those other comments are hilarious! :)
When are you going to the clock? ;)
what did they say about yours! I'm so happy for you!!!
Good for you! I'm proud of you... as always. :)
. . . and why am I not surprised?
Congratulations!
Does this mean you get thru quicker? (not that I have anything at stake in the matter . . .)
Thanks! This doesn't necessarily mean I'll finish more quickly, but does (hopefully) mean I'm on the right track with everything. Apparently I'm now officially a "PhD candidate" (for whatever that's worth!).
I’m so glad that you impressed the socks off your panel and got an upgrade. That is awesome! I'm proud of you.
