Who decided we should go home in the dark for almost half the year??
I wonder this every year. And then I turn on my lights.

Two recent sightings:
- A boy wearing just a camouflage outfit, who claimed to be dressed up as a "weird sort of witch."
- A "ghost" at a haunted house, who had on a camouflage shirt and pants to go along with his scary mask.

did you know that...
- if you order tea in Boston you get hot tea?
- New Hampshire advertises state liquor stores on billboards?
- some signs in Vermont are in both French and English?
- some signs in Vermont are only in kilometers?
- road planners in Massachusetts are very fond of rotaries (traffic circles)?
- you have to watch out for moose crossing the road in New England?
each year, a tree will fill the five buckets with sap. this only makes enough syrup to fill the quart jar at the bottom. (do you feel smarter now?)
This morning in Vermont, I heard, "It will probably snow at higher elevations today."
This afternoon on one leg of my flight, I heard, "The temperature in Nashville is 90 degrees."
From a sweatshirt and coat to a t-shirt and shorts...I'm home!
